About the job
- The IP Surveillance Operator is responsible for effectively operating CCTV equipment to monitor and deter criminal activities and anti-social behavior. This role includes identifying offenders and providing evidence for investigations and prosecutions, with duties such as preparing witness statements and attending court if necessary.
- The operator ensures that all data is accurately captured, processed, and logged in compliance with relevant laws and policies. Daily tasks include liaising with law enforcement, responding to emergencies, and managing Control Room Security.
Key Responsibilities :
- Proactively use CCTV equipment to monitor activity, identify offenders, and deter crime and anti-social behaviour.
- Gather, record, and share high-quality evidence in line with data protection laws and operational procedures.
- Provide witness statements and attend court when required.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and records for all CCTV-related activities.
- Communicate daily with police, security personnel, and other authorised agencies.
- Respond to out-of-hours incidents, emergencies, noise complaints, and lone worker alerts.
- Monitor and act on fire, security, and camera-activated alarms.
- Follow emergency protocols and liaise with the Police, Churchgate Security Personnel, and other Security agencies when needed.
- Conduct daily equipment checks and promptly report faults to maintenance contractors.
- Support security staff, street rangers, and other departments as required.
Qualifications
- HND or B.Sc in Computer Science or related field.
- Any relevant professional qualification in the field.
Experience :
- Minimum of one year experience in the operation of CCTV Surveillance Systems
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate, input accurately, update and retrieve data using packages such as Word, Outlook, Excel, MS Teams
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately orally and in writing
- Extreme awareness to the environment.
