Key Duties and Responsibilities
  - Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security
  - Carry out capacity planning
  - Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users.
  - Consider both back-end organisation of data and front-end accessibility for end-users.
  - Install and test new versions of the database management system (DBMS)
  - Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
  - Managing database access and permissions
  - Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of databases.
  - Review and manage database security, integrity, and backup procedures
  - Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
  - Maintain & Monitor data warehouse
  - Provide Level 2 production support and manageincident resolution against established SLAs
  - Maintain and update application configuration including user security as needed to meet the business requirements
  - Manage service requests to fulfill business and product support requests
  - Plan and ensure timely housekeeping and Infrastructure maintenance activities to support applications
  - Create/update support procedures and ensure proper maintenance of standard operating procedure (SOP)
  - Ensure that local application solutions are implemented and supported in line with Corporate IT standards and governance principles
  - Manage IT staff by recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations, and monitoring performance
  - Monitor daily operations of IT systems, including server hardware, software, networks and operating systems.
  - Coordinate technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance
  - Select and purchase new and/or replace hardware and software, when necessary
  - Test, troubleshoot, and modify information systems so that they operate effectively
  - Generate performance reports for operating systems
  - Ensure all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable policies, regulations & best practices
  - Install new upgrades for hardware and software
  - Develop data backup systems and disaster recovery contingencies
  - Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures
  - Stay up-to-date with advances in technology and industry best practices
  - Work closely with the Head of Information Technology
  
 Key Requirements
 Education and Work Experience:
  - Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline
  - Professional DBA certification
  - Minimum of Four (4) years DBA experience in a reputable organisation.
  - DevOps and Agile methodologies
  - Experience of managing large teams including outsourced and offshore resource
  - Experience of virtualized environments including Azure
  - Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services
  - Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation
  - Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, and IT security
  - Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including server, office, and exchange.
  - Management and leadership skills
  - Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  - Highly organized and detail-oriented
  - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
