Job Description

  • We are looking for an experienced and creative Public Relations Officer residence in lagos Nigeria, to join our team for our ReInvent X Conference.
  • This role involves managing all media communications, public announcements, and PR events to ensure a positive representation and promotion of the event.
  • The ideal candidate will have a solid background in public relations, strong communication skills, and the skill for maintaining a positive public image of our programs and initiatives leading up to ReInvent X Nigeria.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic PR programs to achieve significant increases in brand awareness.
  • Identify key media outlets and coordinate press conferences and other promotional events that can help boost the event's visibility.
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including press releases, speeches, articles, and social media content.
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests, and build relationships with key industry media.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate PR results on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them.
  • Handle the public relations aspect of any potential crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with key Event Leads to guide the strategic positioning of the brand.
  • Coordinate all public relations activities and events with attention to budget and time constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Public Relations Officer or similar PR role.
  • Experience managing media relations (online, social, broadcast, and print).
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout, and design professional skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement PR strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms.

Desired Skills

  • A network of media contacts or a proven ability to develop such networks quickly.
  • Experience in event management or promotion.
  • Comfortable with occasionally working outside of traditional hours for events and crisis management.
